Ariana and the ’08 tree
Keeping in with tradition (although a week late this year) Courtney, Ariana, Spooky and I headed out to Loudon County to Ticonderoga Farms to cut our own Christmas tree. Courtney and I have been cutting our own for almost 10 years now, first up in Montgomery County and now at Ticonderoga since we moved to Virginia. Despite going there every year it seems like it’s always a new experience.
This time around when we pulled into the place we found out that they no longer allow pets into the fields. We turned around and went a little further down the road to another farm. Unfortunately after walking for over an hour through the muck we came out empty handed.
We sucked it up and went back to Ticonderoga and left poor little Spooky in the car while we all went out into the fields to look for the tree. after a brief while we spotted this year’s gem, another White Pine measuring a little over 6 feet. All in all it was a great day. Ariana had a blast in the BIG slides, we roasted marshmallows by a fire and had some hot apple cider and hot chocolate. By the time we got home I had enough time to hang the lights around the garage and to decorate the tree with the girls.
Here’s a couple of pictures for your pleasure…
